The People and Experience behind FM BENCHMARKING
FM BENCHMARKING was founded in 2007 by Principals Peter Kimmel and Keith McClanahan, who bring over 80 years of combined facilities experience to our suite of tools.
Peter S. Kimmel, AIA, IFMA Fellow
Peter is the publisher of FMLink, the leading online information resource for facilities managers, and former president of Peter S. Kimmel & Associates, an internationally recognized facilities management consulting firm.
He recently authored Benchmarking for Facility Professionals, a publication of the IFMA (International Facility Management Association) Foundation, winning the 2014 IFMA Distinguished Author Award (he has won this award five times, most recently in 2018). Peter is known for his work in IWMS (Integrated Work Management Systems) and strategic facilities management. He frequently presents at conferences and has published articles in most leading magazines in the field. He also served as a contributing technology editor to Facilities Design & Management magazine.
Keith J. McClanahan, PE, RPA
Keith is a facilities consultant, former engineer, and former principal of Facility Issues, a leading international benchmarking company. His work with Facility Issues has given him experience with a wide range of organizations, including most of the Fortune 500 companies as well as IFMA’s Utilities Group, Research Benchmarking Groups, Aerospace, and Museums / Cultural Institutions.
For over 15 years, Facility Issues has been implementing the best practices and using the survey applied by FM BENCHMARKING. Keith’s technical expertise has been integral to FM BENCHMARKING and his international experience brings a broad perspective to facilities managers everywhere.
