David J. Brady: Silver Loc Associates LLC, President

BradyDave established Silver Loc in 2010. Silver Loc develops solutions to help clients in the for-profit and nonprofit sectors meet their organizational goals, using expertise in government affairs, communications development, strategic planning, governance, and internal operations. Dave has 28 years of experience in association management. He served as the president and CEO of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), which he had been with since 1993. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Association for Facilities Engineering (AFE) Foundation and the Houston Society of Association Executives. He has been a member of the American Society of Association Executives for the last 28 years.

Henning Gade — Compass Group Denmark A/S, Head of FM Pricing, Benchmarking and Development

GadePrior to joining Compass Group Denmark — a market leader in food service, cleaning and support services — in 2011, Henning spent 28 years at ISS Facility Services. While at ISS University, Henning taught master classes for senior executives from more than 50 countries in facilities planning, budgeting, and benchmarking. He has over 30 years of experience developing facility services and providing FM solutions for major clients such as CSC, Telenor, Siemens, TDC, Saxo Bank and Nordea Bank. Henning is a certified ISO 9000 auditor and EFQM assessor. He is also a member of the Danish Facility Management Association (DFM) and IFMA. On Global FM Day 2012, Henning and his FM team colleagues at Compass Group Denmark received the international Be-A-Star award in the Business & Industry Sector.

Jeffrey Horn: BOMI International, President and CEO

HornBOMI International is the independent institute for property and facility management education, located in Annapolis, Maryland. Founded in 1970, BOMI is a key property and facility management educational resource for corporations, government agencies, property management firms, unions, and trade associations. More than 26,000 building professionals hold one or more BOMI professional designations. Prior to joining BOMI International in January 2008, Jeff was involved in a mix of real estate development, nonprofit management, and government roles. His real estate career includes tenures with Bellemead Development Corporation, Matrix Development Corporation, and Newark Sports and Entertainment. He also served for a decade as NAIOP New Jersey’s first executive director and 5 years as president of the Somerset County Business Partnership. Jeff began his career in New Jersey state government.

Diane MacKnight: MacKnight Associates

MacKnightA recognized expert in the field of real estate and facilities management, Diane specializes in organizational assessment, facilities outsourcing, strategic and tactical facility planning, project management, leadership coaching, operational analysis, and process improvement. She brings us over 25 years of business experience with focus in real estate, facility management, and project management. A Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Diane served as Senior Vice President of Facilities at Trammell Crow Company and Vice President of Facilities at Gannett / USA Today. She also is a past president of IFMA, an IFMA Fellow, and a Fellow in the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. She has served as an adjunct professor in the Facility Management Certificate Program at George Mason University.

Stan Mitchell: Key Facilities Management Group, Chairman and CEO

MitchellKey Facilities Management Group — the holding company of the oldest true FM business in the U.K. — operates in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. The group recently established itself as a provider of activities focused on mechanical and electrical maintenance. Stan has been involved in developing the facilities management profession since the 1980s. He is a past chairman of the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) and the U.K. representative to the CEN348 Technical Committee, which established the first European Standards for facilities management. The founding chairman of Global Facility Management (Global FM) Association, he currently chairs the British Standards Institution (BSI) Facilities Management Committee and the recently established ISO 267 Technical Committee for Facilities Management. His work has been recognized by IFMA (U.S.), FMAA (Australia), and BIFM (U.K.). According to FM World, a U.K. publication, he is one of the top 20 pioneers of facilities management.

Thomas L. Mitchell, Jr.: Florida Agricultural and Mechanical (A&M) University, Chairman, Facility Management Advisory Council

MitchellTom leads a 15-person team that is empowered to evolve FM bachelor and master’s degree programs. He has over 27 years of facility and asset management experience in the government and private sectors — experience that includes 20 years of directing the development, acquisition, sustainment, and protection of military facilities with a cumulative plant replacement value of over $7B throughout the U.S., Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Tom currently serves on the National Institute of Building Science’s board of directors. He is also a member of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) and the vice chairman for the Professional Certifications and Partnership on the National Facility Asset Management Committee. A Certified Facility Manager and an IFMA fellow, Tom chaired IFMA’s board of directors from 2009–2010.
